JOAQUIN NIN-CULMELL
Joaquin Nin-Culmell passed away January 14, 2004 in Oakland, California. He was born September 5, 1908 in Berlin, the last child of the Nin family. He was a highly respected professor in the music department at Berkeley and an internationally recognized composer and pianist.

To the right, just around the corner, we get a glimpse of Joaquín… He turns around to look at us. He wears large glasses, not thick, an informal knit shirt. His face is angelic. His fine features are highlighted by his swept-back white hair, and his smile is infectious. For a man of ninety-four, he looks marvelous.
